Boat Longest: Snapper (Measure) 1st- 7th
Boat Heaviest Gurnard, Kahawai 1st- 7th, Trevally 1st -5th, Kingfish 1st- 5th
Surfcasting Section
Longest Snapper 1st- 5th
Heaviest Gurnard 1st – 3rd Kahawai 1st- 7th,Gurnard 1st – 3rd (weight)
Beach Long Line
Heaviest 1st – 5th Snapper, Gurnard & Kahawai 1st – 3rd
Drone Fishing
Heaviest 1st -3rd Snapper, Gurnard & Kahawai
Average: Weight: Gurnard/Kahawai over all sections
Surfcasting is eligible for all other boat categories
One of each species is to be weighed per day per angler for the average weight category
Spot Prizes
Every early Bird Registration goes into the draw for $500
Two draws – $300 cash & $200 bar tab
Average weight Kahawai and Gurnard – cash prize
Early Bird Registration
Adults $40 before 8 pm Friday, December 2oth
All Children under 16yrs (as of 31st Dec2023) $20
Late registration
Wednesday 27th December $60 at North boat ramp 6.00 am- 6.30 am or at weigh-in times at Awakino Hotel
Anglers must be registered before fishing.
Weigh-in 4.00pm-5.00pm 27th, 28th, 29th Awakino Hotel
One measure mat will be at the hotel for use to measure snapper
*Final weigh-in on the 30th Dec 3.30 pm-4.30 pm
Followed by prize giving and BBQ all welcome extra meals available $10 for non-anglers/non-members.
Note – Only one major prize per angler
If no fishing due to weather conditions prizes will be spot drawn on 30th Dec at 5.30 pm Skippers will be notified of no fishing due to conditions.
Pre Registrations are to be completed on the website by 8 pm Friday 20th December
Competition packs/rules must be collected for each angler/Skipper with measure mats available for purchase these will be available North Boat ramp on 27th December between 6.00 am- 6.30 am. Beach long line and Drone categories will be weighed (Heaviest). Measure mats must be used for the snapper category both boat & surfcasting. The winning snapper is to be verified by photo either printed or emailed with the angler’s name to wal.death@agrifeeds.co.nz or text to 0276037255 by no later than Saturday 30th December 4.30 pm (Final weigh-in)
